Marketable Database, One Audit's Result

You inherited it. You don't trust it.

Most Marketo instances I get called into weren't built badly on purpose. They were built fast, by whoever was in the seat at the time, under a deadline, without anyone stepping back to ask if the pieces still fit together. Years later, nobody fully trusts the reporting, nobody wants to touch the smart campaigns, and every new hire spends their first month afraid to click delete.

An audit isn't a judgment of the person who built it. It's a clear-eyed inventory of what's actually there, what's actually working, and what's quietly costing you data quality, deliverability, or trust every day it stays unfixed.

What the audit covers

01
Database & Data Quality

Bounce and duplicate rates, cold-contact volume, field-level hygiene, and how much of your database is actually marketable today.

02
Lifecycle Rules & Lead Scoring

Whether your lifecycle stages, scoring model, and MQL definition still reflect how your sales team actually qualifies pipeline.

03
Programs & Smart Campaigns

What's live, what's dead weight, what's duplicated, and which smart campaigns are quietly fighting each other.

04
Integrations & Data Flow

The Salesforce sync, any CDP or ABM tool connections, and where data quietly breaks or duplicates between systems.

05
Reporting & Attribution

Whether the dashboards your team looks at actually reconcile with what's in Salesforce, and where the two disagree.

06
Compliance & Governance

GDPR, CASL, and CAN-SPAM posture, subscription and preference center setup, and whether there's a governance process at all.

What you walk away with

A written findings report

Every issue found, organized by severity, in plain language your team and your leadership can both read.

A prioritized roadmap

What to fix first, what can wait, and a rough sense of effort for each — whether you fix it yourself or bring me back for the rebuild.

A live walkthrough

A call to go through the findings with your team, answer questions, and make sure nothing gets lost in a PDF nobody opens.

A good fit if

Questions I get asked

How long does an audit take?
Timing depends on instance size and access, but most audits run as a fixed-fee, time-boxed engagement scoped after a short discovery call.
Do you need admin access to my Marketo instance?
Yes, read access at minimum. We'll agree on exactly what access is needed during scoping, before anything starts.
Will you also fix what you find?
The audit itself is diagnostic. Most clients bring me back for the rebuild as a follow-on project or fractional engagement, but the findings report is yours either way.
What if my stack isn't just Marketo?
I'll review the Salesforce sync and any connected tools as part of the integrations section. My deepest expertise is Marketo and Salesforce specifically.

Ready to find out what's actually going on?

Tell me about your instance and I'll let you know honestly whether an audit is the right first step.
